Clinton College Announces New Staff Hires

Rock Hill, SC (August 18, 2021) - Today, Clinton College announced three new hires to position the college for continued growth: Mr. Viticus Thomas, Director of Admissions, Ms. Kristen Brown, Director of Marketing and Communications, and Mr. Keon Galloway, Percussion Instructor and Drumline Coach.

Mr. Viticus Thomas

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Thomas served as Assistant Director of Admissions/Transfer Counselor at South Carolina State University. While serving at South Carolina State, Thomas provided leadership and direction to implement a new strategy for the transfer process as well as managed major events in the department.

Thomas has over 15 years of higher education experience. He spent several years building his enrollment management career in positions at Johnson C. Smith University, the University of Phoenix, and Centura College.

"It is with great pleasure and honor to be a part of the Clinton College family as the new Director of Admissions," said Thomas. "I am motivated to help take the Golden Bear family to a whole new level."

Mr. Thomas earned his Bachelor of Social Work from Johnson C. Smith University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix with a graduate certificate in Marketing.

Ms. Kristen Brown

Ms. Brown is rejoining the Clinton family as Director of Marketing and Communications. She previously served as Institutional Advancement Coordinator before leaving to serve as Director of Alumni Relations and Development at Shaw University. During her time at Shaw, Brown developed and implemented new marketing and communication strategies for the Office of Alumni Relations that helped to increase alumni giving and engagement.

Brown began her marketing and communications career in healthcare before transitioning to Washington, DC where she worked to create marketing campaigns and events for major corporations.

"I’m excited about returning home to Clinton to help lead and tell the story of all the wonderful things happening here at the New Clinton," said Brown.

Ms. Brown earned her undergraduate degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Journalism, and later received her Master of Arts in Public Relations.

Mr. Josef Keon Galloway

As the new Percussion Instructor and Drumline Coach, Mr. Galloway is joining the Clinton College family with an extensive background in music and music education. Prior to his new appointment, Galloway served as Percussion Instructor at Hampton University, Livingstone College, and Dudley High School.

Galloway attended North Carolina A & T State University, where he was a member of the world-renowned drumline "Cold Steel." His success on the drumline earned him endorsements from Ludwig Drum Company and Vic Firth Stick Company. Galloway went on to tour all over Europe with platinum recording artist Peter Fox and platinum recording group SEEED.

"I am very excited about this new venture and I can’t wait to bring the HBCU Drumline culture to Clinton College," said Galloway.
